Cheetos Contest Landing Page (Spec)
The Client— Cheetos is a corn puff snack brand made by Frito-Lay.
Their tone is bold, fun, exciting, sassy/saucy/cheeky, promotional, and urgent.
The Challenge— Cheetos created a giveaway contest to build their email list as part of their online marketing strategy. They wanted an exciting landing page that made the contest easy to enter while still collecting key personal details.
The Audience— College students aged 18-22, who are already know and like Cheetos. These students appreciate snacks that taste good and don’t spoil easily.
The Solution— I used their sassy brand voice discuss the contest benefits and encourage the viewer to sign up. Since Cheetos loves a pun and to be a little naughty, the headline “Cheet Hunger at College” is a fun example of this.
Because this contest is for students in both 2- and 4-year programs, I emphasized that the free supply of Cheetos is available to both with the line “keep you chomping from orientation to graduation”.
To increase the reach of the contest, I included a secondary Call to Action under the “Submit” button. This invites the viewer to share the giveaway with their hungry friends and provides them with buttons linked to multiple platforms so it’s easy to do.
